Check out this awesome theory on LOZ:MM

LOZ is a series that inspires frequent theorizing, particularly from fans of its lore. Here's an interesting analysis of the Zelda title, 'Majora's Mask'. It's for fans and veterans of that game, or people who don't mind spoilers.

In LOZ: Majora's Mask, Link winds up in a seeming parallel universe version of Hyrule called Termina. That particular game is wrought with mysteries, along with a pervading dark surrealism.  In this essay over at ZeldaUniverse, someone has argued for an intriguing take on perhaps the largest question left unanswered in MM: why was the land of Termina destined for annihilation?

RETRO REVIEW SCHEDULE

Hey guys, So we at EGS are still getting our ducks in a row. There's a lot of content in the works, with a lot of people in the Houston community gearing up to participate in this little blog. In the meantime, I thought I'd post a tentative scheduling as to my retro review column, 'Borrowed Nostalgia'.

EDITED ON NOV 29: - I made some changes, because Baldur's Gate was proving way too massive to satisfactorily play enough for a real review at this time. Also, I just finished playing through an entire LOZ game, and am not particularly jumping to play another one.

 2012:
Borrowed Nostalgia 01 - Super Metroid (SNES)
B.N. 02 - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PSX)
B.N. 03 - Chrono Trigger (SNES)
B.N. 04 - Persona 2 (PSX)
B.N. 05 -Final Fantasy VIII (PSX)
B.N. 06 - Xenogears (PSX)

 2013:

1up gives FF IX some love (via Retronauts)

Final Fantasy IX polarizes fans more than any other FF game. I still am not too sure why, though I suspect it has something to do with everyone's love for VII - some people just prefer their Final Fantasies in a spaceage or post-Industrialized setting (like VI, or VIII) - FF 9 was a major throwback to the original spate of Fantasies, which were all essentially Medieval. Anyway, these guys do a good job arguing for the game's prescience. Why FF IX matters, via Retronauts

It's Cyber Monday, Which is a Thing Apparently

I guess I'm out of the loop, I've never heard of this tradition before now. So many games are on sale, you'd be crazy not to buy some! via Kotaku
